While medical cannabis patients in New York pay a 7% excise tax on cannabis products, recreational cannabis shoppers can expect to pay a 13% sales tax.
Where Can I Use Recreational Cannabis in New York?
Smoking or vaping cannabis in New York falls under the smoke-free air laws, which means it’s allowed anywhere tobacco smoke is permitted. However, there are a few caveats for cannabis use. Marijuana consumption is not permitted in the following scenarios:
